Towing abandoned cars

Our school car park has become a dumping ground for old cars for some reason. It's important to get them removed quickly, as they are often in bad condition and can be dangerous for the kids and their families, as well as taking up a lot of our car parking spaces. We have a towing service that removes the cars from our car park quickly so that we can free up the spaces. This blog talks about the processing of getting cars towed off site and how to choose a towing service that is responsive to your needs as a school or business.

Do Your Tyres Need to be Repaired or Replaced?

Bessie Adams

If you have been having difficulty with low tire pressure or tread that seems to be getting a little too low, you may be trying to decide between having repairs done or getting the tyres replaced. Since they aren't cheap, this is a big decision to make. Here are some things to consider when deciding which one of these is the better option.

Is there extremely low tread?

One of the reasons you should replace your tyres is if the tread is getting low. When the tread is low, your tyres don't have as much protection or friction for the ground. While it may seem fine when driving on flat, stable surfaces, driving over rocks, ice, or rain-stricken streets can be something else entirely. Low tread puts you more at risk for holes that cause a flat, tire blowouts, and skidding on the road when driving during a rain or snowstorm. For your safety and protection, it is best to replace tyres that are losing their tread.

How severe are the holes or cracks?

Also take a look at the holes and cracks, or other forms of damage on the tires. Look closely at each tyre, paying attention to the front, back, and sidewalls of the tyres. If you notice sufficient cracking and fading on the sidewall near the wheel, they might be a little too worn out to keep and need to be replaced. However, small holes and cracks can often be patched up, letting you keep the tyres for a little while longer. While you should still keep a close eye on the tire pressure, this should let you keep them for a bit until you save up enough money for brand new tyres.

Is your vehicle pulling to one side?

If you are concerned about your tyres because your vehicle is driving unevenly, shaking, or pulling to one side more than the other, you might not need to replace the tyres completely. More often than not, these types of issues are actually due to the wheel alignment, and not because the tyres are fault and need to be replaced. Visit a local tyre shop to find out if you just need the wheels balanced and aligned.

How old are the tyres?

On the other hand, older tyres often need to be replaced. They might not be showing severe damage yet, but they are more prone to damage and blowouts on the road. In order to avoid needing to call a tow truck for a blowout or causing an accident due to a flat tire, get them replaced now before it's too late.
